...A Pattern Change for the Central and the Eastern Interior
Monday Night into Tuesday...
A front will sweep across the region from southwest to northeast
Monday night into Tuesday afternoon, bringing a major pattern
change to the area. As the front sweeps across the region there
will be a slight chance of mixed precipitation on the leading edge
of the front before cold air wraps in from the northwest behind
the front, changing the precipitation to all snow late Monday
night into early Tuesday morning. This will be the first chance of
light accumulating snow to impact the Fairbanks Area in quite
some time. On summits in the Interior, winds will pick up and
with the addition of accumulating snow, this will lead to areas of
blowing snow and reduced visibility, creating difficult travel
conditions.
